The rhyming scheme is predominantly ABCB throughout the book, but it requires practice on the part of the adult before reading aloud. Many phrases are either too short or too long to fit easily into the rhythm, although the story line is easy to discern. The difficulty with the story line is its moral. There are now four dogs (and Jake is bigger) to two bullies. The lesson of the story seems to be that there is strength in numbers and size, not that co-operation saves the day, as the attached press release suggests.

      The illustrations are cute and whimsical in nature and will appeal to small children.
