These paper sculptures look tricky, but they're all fun and easy to make. With a little patience, you'll be rewarded with unusual gifts and decorations. The more you practise, the better you'll get - I guarantee it! Soon you'll be coming up with your own ideas. Let your imagination run wild ...
This attractive and colourful guide to paper sculpture is a great resource for elementary art teachers. It is also most suitable for use by children as the instructions are very clear and carefully organized. The author also gives tips to young readers regarding how to use equipment safely and provides step-by-step instructions for each project. Excellent colour photographs also describe each of the techniques for manipulating paper into dimensional sculptures such as a butterfly, a flower bouquet, a school of fish, the space shuttle, a holiday wreath, a horse in a corrugated cardboard frame, a fly-catching frog, a totem pole, a stegosaurus, and a rattlesnake. All of the projects are beautifully executed by Broda who has used the paper sculpture technique to create illustrations for picture books such as The Little Crooked Christmas Tree. The patterns for each project are printed in the middle section and unfortunately could easily be removed by public library customers.

Highly recommended.
