Mr. Christie's Book Awards 1998 Winners

The winners of the 9th annual Mr. Christie's Book Awards for 1998 have been named. The winners share $45,000 in prizes intended to honour excellence in Canadian Children's literature.

Best Books for age 7 and under:
Barbara Nichol and Philipe Beha, Biscuits in the Cupboard (Stoddard)
Lucie Papineau and Marisol Sarrazin, Pas de taches pour une girafe (Les Editions heritage)

Best books for ages 8 to 11:
Kevin Major, Imelda George and Ned Pratt, The House of Wooden Santas (Red Deer College Press)
Dominique Demers, La Mysterieuse Bibliothecaire (Editions Quebec amerique)

Best books for age 12 and over:
Kenneth Oppel, Silverwing (HarperCollins)
