The entrepreneurs and their businesses are diverse, as are the parts of the country from which these young people come. Felicia, 20, from Toronto, ON, does image consulting and self-development; Naomi, 23, from Saskatoon, SK, is a jewelry and toy designer; Sharon, 21, of Bathurst, NB, runs Sharon's One-Stop Fish-Shop and is a part-time newspaper carrier; Sigrid, 24, Paul, 22, and Lisa, 23, three friends from Winnipeg, Manitoba, co-own and operate Net-Mark Enterprises, a web page design and marketing company.

      While young women predominate in this video, male viewers should still find enough information to start their own ideas flowing. The video's purpose is to encourage young Canadians to push their boundaries, to ask difficult questions of themselves, and to stop making excuses and just get out there and do something.

      Interviews predominate, but a scattering of animation perks up the presentation without being distracting. Because all four businesses are given equal time throughout the video, viewer interest is maintained. Crisp visuals contribute to the overall look.

      The video comes with pre- and post-screening activities for the classroom, as well as integration activities, a list of related NFB films, a personal evaluation for students, government resources for young entrepreneurs, a list for further reading and list of coordinating web sites. Teachers could use this video in career planning sessions.
