Principal Weaver was ready to burst a silk gland.

“Fizz Marlow!” she barked through her megaphone. “You. Are. Late!”

I hated to admit it, but the old web-head was right. My spider principal swung alongside the little yellow bus pulling away from the school gates. A bus I was supposed to be on.

The name’s Fizz Marlow. I’m in the fourth grade, and I solve mysteries. It’s a living. I’m a goblin. I’m also very late for the bus taking me on my first overnight school trip.

The adventures begin immediately in the fourth installment of the illustrated “Tank and Fizz” series. Tank, a goblin, and Fizz, a troll, are on their way to visit “the majestic forests of illuminated fungi” known as the Glowshroom Glades. Instead, their bus driver ends up depositing the whole class in the middle of the Dark Depths, a cavern known for its wild spiders, dwarves and dragonkin. While trying to find a way out of the Dark Depths, Tank and Fizz observe a crime that takes them down the path of a new mystery and puts them face to face with the ancient dragon, Firebane Drakeclaw.

A fast-paced, easy read that will keep readers engaged with the mystery adventure element and amused by the illustrated antics of Tank and Fizz.
