In 101 Things to Do With Baby, originally published in 1984, Jan Ormerod created a simple and visually appealing picture book that presents a series of vignettes used to capture the more typical daily activities of a baby. Beginning with saying "good morning", baby's day is filled with eating, playing, interacting and exploring. The big sister is central to this work, sharing these activities with her baby brother and providing a noteworthy lens of the new older sibling.

internal art      In order to speak to the essential elements of a child's life, the illustrations are beautifully simple and eloquent. Limiting the colour palette for each scene, the illustrations are carefully mapped to the activities that are sequentially numbered through the book. The love and affection between the characters have a constant and irrefutable presence throughout.

Ideally suited for families introducing a younger sibling into their fold, 101 Things to Do With Baby is certain to make any reader experience the joy, frustration and routines commonly associated with young family life.

Highly Recommended.
