Let's Count to 100! is a novel addition to the profusion of counting books geared toward the toddler market. Each turn of the page features 100 items to count, including animals (mice, moles, fish, ants, and more), children, cars and houses. Readers are challenged to find or count other features, such as how many ants are carrying candies. Comments in smaller type appear throughout, adding humour for children and parents alike. The final page invites readers to turn back and look for specific images, such as "the girl with a strawberry on her head." Simple phrases and the variation in type allow parents to choose how much text they wish to read to their child, enabling a different reading experience each time. 
This picture book earned its high rating predominately because of its aesthetically pleasing use of colour. Each turn of the page produces a different colour scheme – mauve and brown versus peach and lilac. Animals and children are pictured with unique expressions and inanimate objects, such as cars and houses, have interesting features (a pick-up truck with a banana in its bed is one such example). Colourful, interesting, and humourous, Let's Count to 100! is a must-have for library and home collections.
