excerpt:
The book provides a complete overview to snowboarding. It gives the reader information about the various types of boarding, the equipment and competitions. The book has many bright captions and exciting pictures. The authors have provided the information in short bits making it an easy book to browse through and find just the details that you may be looking for. Snowboarding has its own culture that includes unique lingo that is clearly defined for the beginner. Besides introducing the basics, the book goes on to introduce some big names in the sport. Safety in the sport is supported through the pictures and informational pages. This book would make an excellent resource for a library or classroom. The layout and pictures will make it very appealing to students. For this book, the writing team consulted the United States of America Snowboarding Association (USASA). The information is broken into 14 sections, each providing specific information about the sport. The book contains a table of contents on page 3 and a glossary & index on page 32. Highly Recommended.
