Voyer's spare and delightful artwork complements a humorous and delightful story of friendship. Ant and Rock share stories, pretend they're pirates, go camping together, and listen to each other's problems--they are the best of friends. One day Ant says he must go away to find a family, leaving a sad Rock to wait for a whole year. On the first day of summer, Ant returns with his children and, together, they all share a wonderful friendship.

The content, language and inventive artwork combine to make this book an ideal choice for the beginning reader and a delight to any listener or viewer.
