We tend to believe that, except for Sir John A. Macdonald and Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Canadian politicians are not worth quoting. With this collection of quotes by Canadian politicians David Olive has changed this conception forever. Olive gathered and arranged over 600 quotes from some of Canada's leading and not-so-famous politicians, just in time for the 1993 federal election.

With the election over, the following quote by Dalton Camp on elections is particularly ironic: "ln my experience governments are not defeated. They must grab themselves by their own lapels and hurl themselves from office."

Barry Blitt, who is a political cartoonist, adds a number of light-hearted illustrations that provide additional humour. This is a fun book that will provide readers many amusing moments, especially between elections.

This collection of Canadian political rhetoric, intended for adults, is recommended for purchase.
