KIDSSONGS SLEEPYHEADS

This cassette/board book combination will not lull pre-schoolers and Kindergarten children to sleep. The female soloist's voice is flat and lacks any appealing range. The inclusion of such songs as "Amazing Grace" and "Shenandoah" is questionable in a children's lullaby presentation. Often tempos are so slow as to drag. The back-up children's choir fails to balance the vocal solo. At other times the varied instrumental accompaniment sounds harsh or on occasion like elevator music. The board book does little to enhance the disappointing music. Much better for collections are Pat Carfra's Lullabies and Laughter and her Songs for Sleepyheads and Out-of-Beds.
