A need to create documents useful to teachers in the area of instructional practice is the main impetus for this book, the second in a series of eight existing curriculum support strategy handbooks.

What Would You Do? is a clearly written teacher manual for implementation of the inquiry process in the classroom. Suitable for use at any grade level, the handbook provides teacher information about what inquiry is, how and why to use it, and how to get started. Finally, the booklet provides a list of a dozen annotated resources for further investigation and a host of teacher tips scattered throughout the text.

A well-organized table of contents lists such subtopics as "Ideas for Inquiry Lessons," "Questioning" and "Getting Started with Inquiry." It explores the roles of teacher and student during the inquiry process and concludes with suggestions for lesson and student evaluation.

For the beginning teacher or the experienced teacher who wishes to expand his or her teaching strategies, this handbook offers valuable starting points for successful initiation of the inquiry process in the classroom.

Based on the clarity, practicality and cost of this handbook, it should prove to be a valuable, sought-after teacher resource.
