Teacher Ginette Lamont Clark teams up again with Florence Stevens, a world-renowned reading specialist, to create this amusing multi-purpose story combining fantasy, reality, and a search for hidden clues. Their first book was the very popular Et si l'autobus nous oublie? / What it the Bus Doesn't Come? ¹, (Tundra Books, 1990).

When Dad suggests a visit to the zoo, Carole and Paul are excited. But what if dad were to get lost? How would they find him? Well, they decide they would have to find a bench and surely dad would be there reading his paper. But what if he got lost in the jungle, or in the desert, or at the North Pole? Carol and Paul try to outdo each other imagining where Dad could get lost and how they would find him again.

Isabelle Langevin's vivid and exuberant full-page illustrations offer children much to explore. In each one clues are hidden which show how the children will find their father. Small black-and-white drawings on the opposite pages accompanying the text reveal the answers.

Both parents and teachers can use this story to introduce many facets of world wildlife environments and the animals that inhabit them.

Recommended.
