Understanding Sikhs and Their Religion: A Christian Perspective is an inexpensive handbook written "for the person who wants to witness to his Sikh neighbour or friend about the Gospel of Jesus Christ." Raj examines the basic doctrines, socio-economic make-up, myths about, culture shock and other changes Sikhs face in Canada. Most Canadians, according to Raj, "...have prejudices against other cultures and people...." The last half of the booklet is a manual about how to proselytize a Sikh into the Christian fold, replete with a section of testimonials. Santosh K. Raj is pastor of the Hindi Punjabi Gospel Church Chapel in Vancouver and writes from his experience and perspective. The first half of the booklet holds some merit because it helps unpack the world view of the Sikhs; however, the second half is not suitable for general school audience at the grade 10 to 12 level because of its doctrinaire stance.
