When Quincy Rumpel and her family start out for Phantom Cove, they are looking forward to relaxing at a holiday resort. Instead, they discover that the resort is run down and their friends Bert and Ernie, who own it, cannot seem to attract any tourists. The reason is clear - this is a fishing resort and all the fish have disappeared. Quincy, with her brother Morris and sister Leah, sets out to discover why there are no fish in the cove. As might be expected, they uncover the reason and solve the problem.

The sasquatch of the title proves to be real enough, but a friend rather than a menace. This light-hearted story will not surprise many readers, but it is pleasant and easy enough to keep undemanding youngsters reading. Children who have already read some of the Rumpel titles will probably want to add this to their list.
