Author Janet Grant, talent consultant and director of the Canadian Young Authors' Camp, provides young people with this exciting book on how to make a personal plan to save the environment. The Kids' Green Plan enables children to determine what is important to them in terms of their environment. It provides information on endangered species, water conservation, toxics in drinking water, acid rain, forests and garbage. Famous environmentalists as well as children who have formed their own green plan are also introduced. Then, step-by-step directions are given on how to formulate your very own green plan. Finally, suggestions are mentioned on how to share your projects with family, friends, classmates and the community. For additional information there is a list of headquarters of environmental groups and their addresses at the end of the book.

Saving our environment is an important issue to all Canadians. For children, the adults of tomorrow, the future of their environment has a special significance. The Kids' Green Plan enables the young reader to receive a clear picture of environmental concerns. Numerous book references listed can provide further information on topics of specific interest. Besides being informative, this book challenges individuals to do their part by formulating a personal green plan. The clear, easy-to-read format is enhanced by simple, at times comical, black-and-white illustrations. The Kids' Green Plan lends itself to family, school and community discussions and projects as well as offering a challenging approach to Canadians of tomorrow.
