Volume 18 Number 2 1990 March There's absolutely no doubt that Peter Gzowski's "Morningside," CBC's most popular daily radio program, is a Canadian institution. This third collection of correspondence from listeners and regulars. The Latest Morningside Papers, following in the wake of best-sellers The Morningside Papers and The New Morningside Paper, seems proof positive that one tradition has spawned another. Here are the pick of letters ad­dressed to Gzowski between autumn 1987 and spring 1989, on any and every subject, in every vein - serious, tragic, moving, funny or simply by-the-way. Some respond to a suggested theme such as "Some Happy (and some sentimental) Returns" or "Childhood Haunts"; others just arrived out of the blue, fulfilling someone's impulse or need to communicate with the vast unseen audience that wouldn't miss "Morningside" for the world.
