Volume 18 Number 1
William Reynolds is an artist and wildlife photographer and an avid traveller of Ontario. The variety of the selected photographs is refreshing as he captures the many seasons and geography of nature. He surpasses his previous endeavours, Point Pelee and Algonquin I am very impressed with this publication, partly because of the colour reproduction. Reynolds goes to great lengths, as described in "A Perspective on Photography," to capture natural lighting and as much detail and precision as possible. The numerous colour plates demonstrate this admirably, although there are a few that offer the reader poor colour and unnatural-looking settings. Overall, the majority of works expresses his maturity as an artist-photographer who can please both the technician and the artist. Reynolds combines composition, mood, colour and detail with many beautiful images of Ontario and offers the reader an appreciation of the many natural wonders of the province. I particularly enjoyed his brief introduction and insights on his motivation. I recommend this as an important addition to the photography and art sections of all high school and public libraries. C.
