Doctor Hanson's book The Joy of Stress* was so popular that he has written another one on stress. He gives good, common sense advice on every work situation. This advice is for all who feel stress on the job. Whether working for someone else or for oneself. The book is easy to read and well laid out with each chapter and section clearly labelled. The doctor's professional expertise is evident throughout.

Hanson starts out with workplace stress and the importance of looking after number one. Then covers the extremes of stress, shift work, and women's problems. Technostress is dealt with as are leadership and the bad boss. The bad boss may be you! Workaholics and their self-abuses, business insecurities, takeovers, down-turns and job loss are also discussed.

A chapter on public speaking includes advice, tips and rules to overcome stress. The chapter on travel stress gives detailed suggestions on avoiding fear of flying, jet lag, and poor packing.

"De-Stress Options" includes an extensive scale of stress ratings. Other topics covered include using stress to fight stress, mental fitness, physical fitness and substance abuse. Also includes appendices on exercise and nutrition.

Recommended.
