Kindergarten and up

Volume 16 Number 6
1988 November

The photography in this set is stunning, clearly revealing the variety of natural elements, man's accommodation, and penetration. Historical visuals are used in the story of the Europeans in the north. Graphics help to explain important geologic concepts. The script is challenging but not taxing. For lower grades the narration could be adapted by the teacher. But in fact the visuals tell their own story; appropriate questions are only needed to draw out important points. The manual is quite extensive, giving the full script and specific teaching strategies, a glossary where needed, and useful related resources. From any point of view an outstanding product.

Highly recommended.
