These two books in the “Tabletop Learning” series will provide hours of learning opportunities through entertaining and imaginative activities. Each book includes a table of contents, a metric conversion chart, crafts, fun activities, puzzles, an answer key and an index.

Dinosaurs: Facts, Fun and Fantastic Crafts is divided into three sections: "Dino-crafts," "Dino-fun" and "Dino-info." In "Dino-crafts," the reader learns that dinosaurs can be made from cardboard tubes, boxes, material, paper and papier mache. Papier-mache dinosaur eggs from which a paper baby dinosaur can hatch are found in the activity called "Babies." A pillow in the shape of your favourite prehistoric pal can be made by following the instructions in "Pillow-saurus."

Instructions for throwing a dino-party—including everything from invitations to refreshments and games—are included in "Dino-fun." "Dino-info," the final section of the book, is packed full of fun. You can trace your way to the centre of a maze in "Dino-mazing," decode a secret message or disclose a dinosaur skeleton by colouring the appropriate spaces.

In Rainbow Fun: Rainbows to Keep, Share, and Give Away, children can learn about rainbows and related subjects (rain, colours and prisms) by participating in original activities. In the first section, "Rainbow Crafts," you discover how to make rainbow candles. Fun things like turning your sneakers into rainbow shoes by adorning them with rainbows or making rainbow pencil toppers that will turn "an ordinary pencil into an extraordinary rainbow pencil" are to be found in the "Rainbow Fun" section. Recipes such as rainbow bubbles, rainbow cubes, rainbow popsicles and rainbow cookies make up the final "Rainbow Recipes" section. Both activity books are illustrated with cheery black-and-white line drawings. The illustrations in Dinosaurs are often amusing as well as instructive.

The “Tabletop Learning" series is written so that children ages eight to ten will be able to follow the instructions themselves; younger children will need supervision. Recommended.
