Both André and Ann Gagnon are recognized leaders in children's librarianship in Canada.

The range of titles of Canadian Books for Young People/Livres canadiens pour la jeunesse serves pre-school through to the late teens and covers board and picture-books, folklore and all the classifications. Reference, magazines, series, award-winners and professional publications are separated. Reading levels are denoted by "younger," "middle," "older" and "young adult" with similar labels for French language titles. Arranged alphabetically by author within the subject classifications, the entries are enhanced by brief, well-worded descriptive and sometimes evaluative annotations. The French language section is also very useful.

Recommended.
