This attractively designed history wall chart is packed with information that traces Canadian history from the age of discovery to the mid-1980s. On the top of the chart are four separate maps showing the regions of Canada, pathfinders, exploration of Canada, and the emerging Canada, The bottom two-thirds of the chart presents information about significant events in Canadian history. According to J.M.S. Careless, the editor of the written portion of the chart, the purpose of the chart is not just to present facts from history, but "to display their interworkings and flow over time." A reading of the chart from left to right serves this purpose. The chart is a useful visual aid for history and geography classrooms at the junior high and high school levels. It is designed by David Johnson and colour-fully illustrated by Todd Murrison.
