Michelle Jeffries rages against her ex-husband Max Papara, a successful lawyer who flatters himself by having sex with young girls. After four years of non-events. Michelle is prepared to marry Casey (Charles) Williams, a successful UBC music teacher who has had, after his wife's sudden death, a long history of sexual adventures with his young students, including Michelle and Max's daughter, Lizzie.

Michelle (and the author), believe in the success of the new marriage. This reviewer doesn't. There are too many "admiring glances," "regrets." Michelle is probably getting another Max. Lizzie's situation in this Canadian version of a famous Miller novel is left quite unsettled. After the shock of becoming aware of Michelle and Casey's love affair. Lizzie is left with the vague possibility of a basis for a new relationship with her mother.

A public library acquisition.
