William Pasnak has written an interesting and engrossing story based on the characters of the award-winning TV show "Degrassi Junior High."

The grades 7 and 8 students of the school are involved in putting on a major production that needs the hard work and co-operation of all the students. This is the first time the school has attempted anything like this, and it is mainly up to the students to put the show on. The production of the play and the development of the characters and their interpersonal relationships make this book fast paced and exciting.

Pasnak has captured the spirit and the ups and downs of teenagers, and young readers will be able to identify with some of the characters in his book. Since the book is based on a TV show, the readers will already have an acquaintance with the characters in the story. Pasnak has also written other children's novels, such as In the City of the King* and the sequel Under the Eagle's Claw, which was released in the spring of 1988.

I would definitely add this book to the school library.
