Audrey Nelson, who lives on an island off the coast of British Columbia, has written a charming little story about brother and sister relationships and illustrated it prettily, with lots of beautiful coastal BC scenery in the background.

A small brother's boyish curiosity and pranks drive his older sister to distraction. He is egged on by his somewhat naughty, advice-giving friend William, as he dumps sand in his sister's bed, breaks her prized possessions, says a "rotten word," and often wonders how he got the wart on his finger. Could his sister have caused it?

Recommended.
