Ambitious beginners and expert cooks alike will enjoy the Dinah's Cupboard Cookbook. Dinah Koo is the creator of "Dinah's Cupboard," one of Toronto's best-known caterers, while Janice Poon is an artist and food designer. Using clear language, step-by-step instructions, and plentiful line illustrations, they present 170 of the recipes that made "Dinali's Clipboard" a byword for elegant and sophisticated dining. The cookbook also includes a guide to home entertaining, with sections on party-giving, party menus with preparation schedules, and food design for garnishes, presentation of dishes, and spectacular "tablescapes" for buffets. The nine menus range from sit-down dinners for eight to an oriental buffet for thirty; hints are also given for theme parties and children's parties. Recipes are complete on one page whenever possible, and the book is well organized, with a good index. Attractive, with good type and quality binding. Dinah's Cupboard Cookbook will be a valuable addition to cookery collections.
