Volume 15 Number 1
1987 January

Illustrating the impact of immigration on Canadian society, this volume of the Canadiana Scrapbook series explores through picture, photograph, clipping, map, and sketch, the mosaic that is Canada's culture. In exploring Canada's ethnic population, the authors show that English-speaking Canadians have been intolerant of differences in language, customs, religion, and colour, yet the new Canadian has contributed to Canada's development.

Each chapter is two pages of excerpts from primary sources. Some of the topics include: Canada today, its culture, its native people, government policy, the Chinese, the Hutterites, the Ukranians, the Italians, and the Blacks. The book, suitable for junior and senior high school social studies programs and teacher reference, is an outsize, stapled paperback. A bibliography and time line are included, but there is no index.
