Martyn Godfrey, who has written several books for Series Canada (a high interest - low vocabulary series), has written a top-notch book for young readers in Plan B is Total Panic. This book has all the ingredients to make it a hit: adventure, humour, conflict, and fear.

Teenager Nicholas, a self-described wimp, acquires self-confidence through a series of adventures in the bush with his friend Elvis, a member of the Dene tribe. Nick finds himself doing things he never dreamed himself capable of doing and ends by feeling much better about himself.

Plan B is Total Panic is fast moving, gripping, and easy to read. I definitely recommend it for school libraries.
