Because of the nature of the seventeen units, it is specifically designed for the adult learner and for basic upgrading students. Each chapter presents a problem that instigates an investigation, which is completed in graded exercises. It is particularly helpful in eliciting responses to specific grammatical constructions that are listed in the table of contents. This is a useful book for the teacher as it provides situations that would enable the teacher to expand discussion on real problems for the new Canadian.
