Volume 14 Number 4
1986 July

Produced in co-operation with The Children's Book Centre, this production presents Gordon Korman as an enthusiastic creative author who is eager to please his readers. He understands his role as author and the impact his stories have upon his readers. The audio allows the students to hear the actual voice of the author reading and discussing his books, and his motivation for writing them. He describes his enjoyment in using his imagination while writing stories. This presentation would be useful in making authors come alive as real people, in stimulating future authors, and even as a motivator for reluctant readers. The teacher's guide includes a good biographical sketch and some suggested activities. Highly recommended.
