This book is designed for use as a textbook in law for secondary school students. It is organized into eight parts, each dealing with a particular division of law, such as criminal law, except for the first part, which is an introduction to the subject. Each part is rounded off with a section entitled "The Law and Society," which addresses current issues and everyday legal problems. The parts are subdivided into a total of twenty-eight chapters that cover those topics considered most appropriate to new students of law. Each chapter has a text that examines the chief features of the topic and is supported by a variety of materials including newspaper reports, review quest ions, legal problems, and relevant case summaries. The result is a substantial collection of information about the subject of law possessing both variety and depth. This information is further strengthened by a very good lexicon or glossory.

The authors correctly describe All about Law as a source of information. The strengths of this form of texibook lie in the completeness and organization of the material. In these respects the book is a definite success. Law is a voluminous subject and the authors have made a sound selection of those topics most appropriate to students seeking legal knowledge about matters that are most likely to affect them. The part on family law is particularly interesting, although all the others are valuable in their way. The final result of the authors' efforts is a textbook that can be recommended for use in secondary schools that wish to make a serious attempt to teach law as an academic subject.
