Martel is a French Canadian writer who has written many poems, short stories, and books in French. Robot Alert is an exciting science fiction adventure story that should keep young readers turning the pages right to the end. Adam, who lives in Montréal, and Eve, who lives in Vancouver, both receive toy robots from the planet Amandara Tetra. The robots are brought back by Adam's uncle and Eve's father who are renowned astronauts. Before long, Adam, and his best friend and neighbour, Marc, and Eve realize that the robots are not quite what they seem. How do Adam and Eve become involved in saving the planet Earth? Will they have the knowledge, the courage, and the stamina to do it in time? These and many more questions are answered in this fast paced and exciting book. Martel's book has all the elements to interest young readers. She includes alien robots, planets at war with one other, space travel, car chases, and intrigue.
