A handbook for kindergarten teachers in six chapters: classroom environments, long-range, theme, and daily planning, learning centres, and record keeping. Appendices, (half the book), contain sixteen fully developed themes for use from fall through spring. The book is cartoon illustrated and filled with practical helps, diagrams, patterns, poems, recipes, report forms, and a brief bibliography. The author is clearly writing from experience, and gives more than just a compendium of ideas. She stresses the importance of careful planning and preparation for each child. My kindergarten teacher said, "An excellent book. I'd love it."
