The visuals and narration combine to provide a useful survey of England from the Norman conquest to 1485. Aspects emphasized are the feudal system, barons, parliament's slow growth, the 100 Years' War, the Wars of the Roses, and abbots and knights. Also included are political, military, and social activities of the period. This film provides a useful insight into medieval life in Europe. Recommended.
