Written to aid the young child's adjustment to divorce, this flimsy, spiral-bound, and rather expensive book is not recommended. The trauma and stress surrounding divorce and a step family is oversimplified in an unimaginative and stilted text. Accompanying line drawings remind one of a bland colouring book with no character, action, or mood. Tammy is a non-person who appears equally out of place as an older-looking child at a counselling session or conversely as a preschooler sitting in her sandbox. Good material comparable to the award-winning American book Where is Daddy? is needed in Canada. For now the recent publication, Mom and Dad Don't Live Together Any More* fills the gap.
