Grades 12 and up Reviewed by Margaret MacLean Volume 13 Number 5 1985 September Bottled Roses, a collection of related stories by a day-time lawyer, have nothing to do with law and a lot to do with human relationships between adults and children, grandparents and children, mothers and daughters, fathers and daughters, women and men. Madott describes a Toronto experience as a third generation Italian. Her stories are lightly connected. A reader feels that the "I" of several stories could be the same person, as is perhaps the grandmother of several stories, and the incidents parts of a whole. Madott uses dreams in several of her stories to forward her ideas and she uses them so effectively that one remembers the fears of one's own dreams. An excellent collection for senior students.
