As a response to the recent Canadian trend of publishing books about the establishment, Don Harron, alias Valerie Rosedale (Charlie Farquharson's uppity, Canajan ritch cussin), has taken on the important task of spoofing the nation's elite and informing the Canadian public about the real power players who run this country, the Distaffestablishment's Old Girls' Network known as the Powder Brokers.

Charlie Farquharson, who claims that way back they had "the same set of incestors," has assisted Rosedale by providing a foreword and introductions to each of the provinces. He states, "I stick my feetnotes in whenever I seen fit to foot." For example, "There was quite a screech made when Smallwood let Canada jine up with Newfland, and the natives have bottled it up ever sints."

Rosedale introduces the gallant old girls who made it to the top. The Great Dames include Meg "Queenie" McAlpine from the Northwaste Terrortory, who founded Club Meg, an Arctic spa popular with the elite; Prissy Wadsworth, "the hardiest bloomer in the Butchart Garden set"; and Velda "Tex" Olds Hunsucker, who has a big spread in wheat in Elberta's Peace River country.

Gram Pills-Worth has illustrated the book with sketches, including Toronto's most prominent bag ladies, the Simp sisters, and Mazo Laroque-Fortier, heiress who claims Quebec's motto is "J'aime souvenirs."

Rosedale suggests that the women establish a new honour system ("the old boys have made a mess of it"), including the Order of Millinery Merit and the Most Vulnerable Order of St. John's Ambivalence.

This book is guaranteed to change your view of the nation's elite forever.
