Designed for business students, this exercise book requires some training in secretarial formatting and word processing. Jobs are set up in three phases. Phase 1 contains job requisition forms with instructions and details for processing various types of handwritten documents. Exercises are very simple. Phase 11, the edit section, contains the documents produced in Phase 1 with job requisitions and proofreader's marks indicating revisions needed. Phase III is an edit section at a more difficult level for the documents revised in Phase II.

Student objectives and input or editing skills required are listed for each job. Types of documents include manuscripts, tables, correspondence and document assembly. More correspondence and business forms could have been included.

The authors are teachers at a community college, but the book could also be used at the senior high school level as a text in whole or in part, as an extra text within the classroom (for extra practice or bonus work), or as a reference guide for a teacher of word processing.

The spiral-bound flip-top text is conveniently designed so that alternate pages are read sequentially to the back of the book; to continue, the book is turned over. This book would be more useful in a classroom than in a library.
