Ahoy mates. We have here a book about Canadian pirates and bad men. Playwright/researcher Ed Butts and author Harold Horwood have compiled a collection of stories, one per chapter, on some eighteen infamous Canadian brigands and bad men from 1610 to 1932. I have always been partial to the Map Trapper myself, just as Newfoundlanders are to their folk hero Peter Eastons, a privateer who also ran a protection racket off the west coast of Newfoundland circa 1610.

In all, there are eighteen smoothly written, very interesting chapters, including a table of contents, index, bibliography and photographs. Good for grades 7 and up.
