Produced in consultation with the Children's Book Centre, Canadian Story Tellersis a continuing series designed to stimulate an interest in Canadian authors and their works. Margaret Laurence not only tells the story encompassed in The Olden Days Coat but prefaces it with photographs of the place and sleigh that inspired her. Bill Freeman and Christie Harris do the same with their stories, Shantymen of Cache Lake and Mousewoman and Porcupine Hunter. This personal background information greatly enhances the enjoyment of the stories. The series would be a most worthwhile acquisition for resource centre collections. Highly recommended.
