Reviewed by Roger Long. Volume 12 Number 3 1984 May Set Your Course is the second booklet of the four booklet Career Planning series written by Gerald Cosgrave. This booklet, originally published in 1977, has been revised by Bill O'Byrne. It deals with the search for a suitable educational or training program and later an occupation. The topics covered in this book include making good decisions and overcoming indecision; levels, types and settings of work; choosing a pathway to the desired goal; selecting options and then reducing their number; choosing an occupation; and finally, considering preparation for the chosen occupation. One hopes this book will help the reader reach decisions about education and work. Following each short chapter, there are questions to stimulate the reader to further considerations. These questions could be used advantageously in a classroom setting as a catalyst for group discussions. Failure to include graphs, charts, colour, or more pictures makes this drab little booklet uninviting and difficult for the non-verbal person.
