Volume 11 Number 6. 1983 November. Brian Costello offers an easy to understand book on how to hang on to your money in Your Money and How to Keep It. He operates on the basic assumption that people should try to get the most from their hard-earned money. His suggestions on how to keep money away from the tax man include investing in Registered Retirement Savings Plans and in various properties. Other suggestions on how to gain more from your money centre on careful budgeting, planning ahead, and knowing when to buy certain products. Costello also writes about how to save money by paying more on your mortgage and by engaging in barter when possible. The extensive table of contents-twenty-nine chapters—is supplemented by an index. There is an appendix with tax tables by province included, as well as an amortization schedule. Most books of this nature only apply to those people with extra money to invest. While this book is somewhat like this in a few instances, it can be for everyone, as most people are interested in keeping a larger chunk of their pay cheque.
