In January 1978, a Soviet nuclear-powered satellite, Cosmos 954, fell on Canadian territory and scattered radioactive debris over a wide area of the Northwest Territories. Here is a meticulous account, day by day, almost hour by hour, of how Canada with American help cleared up the mess.

The author of this comprehensive, authoritative text is highly recommended. He has several degrees in English and French, has many years' experience with aviation (RCAF and CF), is a member of the Aviation/Space Writers Association, and participated in the Cosmos clean-up.

It is intriguing to read how Canada coped with this accident concerning the "frightening nuclear world of today" during an arctic winter. Particularly recommended for anyone interested in aviation or the Canadian Forces. Over fifty good photos, index, bibliography.
