Money-Making Ideas for Retirees is a somewhat misleading title. It is a book of money-making ideas for anyone wanting to earn extra income, although it is directed at retirees.

Ronald J. Cooke, the author, compiled seventy-five different ways for individuals to increase their income by talking to people who were earning extra income that way. Ideas include different types of sales work, pet sitting, letter writing, and many, many others. Cooke gives possible costs of becoming involved in an enterprise, possible number of employees necessary to run it, and possible rates one might charge for the service.

The author stresses that one must plan one's retirement before the actual time comes. He says one should first look to one's own special talents and interests and see if one could earn extra income from them. If one has no such talents or interests, then look for something else. Cooke offers good ideas to those wanting to increase their income or even change their career. The book is organized by chapters; each idea has a short chapter of its own, and each is listed in the table of contents. The book makes interesting reading and is written in an easily understood manner, showing how some people can be successful performing a service that others may not have thought would be a money-making venture.
