Dr. Borins, a leader in the field of holistic health, writes clearly and simply for the lay person about a sensible approach to health care. In a world of stress and tension, where unhealthy lifestyles often cause illness, he suggests that one should become aware of one's health needs and take responsibility for them. Such awareness would include consideration of physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs. Nutrition, sexuality, exercise, and relaxation can work for the benefit or the detriment of each of us.

When illness does occur, readers are advised to analyse their attitude towards it and to see if they can make changes in stress level or lifestyle that will help to avoid recurrence. Self-help exercises are suggested so that a person can apply principles of health in a specific way.

While this is, indeed, only a primer about holistic health, it is an interesting, easily understood introduction to the subject. Recommended.
