SKI FOR YOUR MOUNTAIN
Sharon Siamon.
Volume 11 Number 5.
If this is representative of the new Gage Jeanpac series, it is a pleasant surprise. Ski is competently written, with appealing adolescent characters, interesting but not too much information about competitive skiing, and a strong, if somewhat dependent on coincidences, plot. Will April save the ski lodge? Can her uncle and aunt make it a successful business venture? Will cousin Karen, the racing champ, reform her obnoxious self and become April's true friend? An unusual twist: April saves the family fortunes just because she is such a messy slob. All good stuff and fun reading.
