Little White Bear lived with his family at the North Pole. Unlike other polar bears, Little White Bear could not find his way home by himself. Old Walrus suggested that he had no "Bump of Locality." One day Little White Bear floated away on an ice flow and came to rest in front of the Snow Witch's rainbow coloured ice palace. It was she who took him home. At the North Pole, the witch rubbed a little bit of the pole into the tip of Little Bear's tail. From that day on, although he could not feel a "Bump of Locality," he was always able to find his way home by himself. To this day, on a starry night, Little White Bear can be seen in the sky and at the tip of his tail the Pole Star can be seen shining. The size of print and the extensive use of narration will appeal to primary children.
