The same calibre of quality is found in this practical follow-up to the previous Georgian Bay Winter Entertaining. The eleven chapters range from four to nine subsections, and, despite titles such as "Oriental Jewel", "Italiano on the Bay", and "Gourmet on the Run", the emphasis is on ease of preparation. The summer cottage cook is guided from the traditional opening on the 24th of May weekend to the official Labour Day closing celebrations.

Menus are centred on outdoor barbecues, thematic picnics, child-oriented meals, and fishing (smelt, bass, and salmon). An excellent cross-section of recipes is provided for seasonal activities, whether bridal parties or preservation of food. A "Basics" chapter keeping the novice cook in mind, covers sauces, breads and mixes, and reference is made to the use of the microwave.

A delight to peruse, with colourful photos and chatty, neighbourly introductions. A delight to use, with flat wire-bound format and well-indexed recipes.
