RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT!: MAGIC & MAGICIANS
Volume 11 Number 3.
Magic and Magicians follows in the tradition of Robert L. Ripley's famous syndicated cartoon series. Anyone who enjoys the Believe It or Not! television series will like this book. A short introduction to the history of magic is followed by brief sections on spells and incantations, alchemy, superstitions, cats and witchcraft, stage magicians, and other related topics. Each topic consists of information interspersed with illustrative material in the form of photographs, sketches and cartoons from Ripley's column. Skilful presentation of illustrations on paper of various colours has resulted in a visually appealing volume. The book is sturdy and should withstand the heavy use that it will undoubtedly receive. Recommended for browsers and devotees of the occult in school and public libraries.
